EN8D is a medium carbon steel supplied to a tightened chemistry specification. With carbon in the 0.40–0.45% range it offers considerably higher strength and hardness than low carbon grades, and it responds well to heat treatment.
It is widely specified for shafts, spindles, axles, studs and other components that carry real load in service. EN8D can be through hardened and tempered to reach a range of strength levels. We manufacture EN8D bright bar at our Pune plants in round, square and hexagonal profiles.
